Hayloft raises £4,000 for Greenfingers through QVC

A record £4,408 was donated by Hayloft Plants to Greenfingers earlier this month in support of Garden Re-Leaf.

A total of £17,778 was raised on QVC gardening programmes in March. Hayloft’s donation, the largest of all QVC gardening suppliers, increased by 25 per cent in line with total plant sales for 2013 versus 2012.

Meanwhile, Hayloft's summer catalogue is now published, slightly later than last year in line with the delayed season. Featured plants include Leonotis nepetifolia Staircase and Delosperma Fire Spinner which was entered into the Chelsea Flower Show for the Plant of the Year competition.

Hydrangea paniculata Wim’s Red, Verbena rigida Polaris, Eupatorium dubium Baby Joe and three new Veronicas – Amethyst Ray, Red Ray and Sky Ray are also featured.

Hayloft say Dicksonia antarctica (tree ferns) are proving a big hit this year. They were featured in the Trailfinders Australian Garden by Flemings Nurseries, the ‘best in show’ garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2013.

Owner Derek Jarman said: "They continue to sell like hot cakes and we are well into our second 40 foot container this year."
