Hambrooks garden designs star on television

The new series of Love Your Garden has featured two gardens designed by Mike Hodges of landscape firm Hambrooks in Curdridge.

David Domoney, who co-presents the TV show with Alan Titchmarsh, spent a day filming the gardens in Southsea and interviewing Hodges.

"As a local business, it was a privilege that two of our gardens were included in this series," said Hodges. "Domoney said the designs possess those special qualities that make a garden feel like a real oasis."

Hambrooks recently took on seven apprentices and is looking at offering more training in 2013, Hodges added. He noted that Titchmarsh told viewers he felt that more young people would benefit from going into horticulture rather than applying to university.
