Halifax in green space pledge

A bank is giving away tools and plants to people who volunteer to work on green spaces.


Halifax is giving away 2,500 trowels to people who make a pledge to "spruce up a green space for charity".

The bank's Give Extra Pledge scsheme is an "online commuity for people to pledge to go the extra mile in their community."

One of the four pledges to help the community is to tidy up lcoal green spaces.

Halifax offers resources at www.halifax.co.uk/makeapledge.

Participants receive an apron, sweatband, cones or trowel after each pledge.

They can share stories on twitter and facebook and win £250 vouchers for plants from nurseries.
