Its success, according to joint owner Rosebie Morton, was built on a burgeoning deal with Selfridges and strong online sales. Morton said: "(The award) was great from the company's point of view; we have had a fantastic year.
"We are in Selfridges now so it's lovely to be able to put it on the table there. People are impressed even though they don't necessarily know what it's about."
She said that despite "testing times" in the market, the company had achieved a 12 to 15 per cent expansion in 2009.
The deadline for entry to this year's awards, run by HW and Grower in association with Asda, the HTA and the NFU, is now 18 November.
