Groundwork prioritises job creation

Green skills body Groundwork says it has created 3,600 jobs over the past year, through its provision of work experience and skills training in disadvantaged communities.

Writing in Groundwork’s latest Impact Report, chief executive Tony Hawkhead said: "Our outreach has been framed by our response to rising unemployment… Groundwork aligned a large proportion of its operations to addressing this need."
The body raised £123 million this year from government and private sources, which funded nearly 6,400 projects in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
