Ground Control is offering incentives for its staff to buy electric cars - in a bid to improve the environment.

Employees who sign up to the scheme can benefit from an income-tax saving through the salary sacrifice payment process. Driving an electric car also saves on road tax and fuel costs.

Senior winter maintenance co-ordinator Peter Brown is a fan. He said:

"Electric cars are great, really fun to drive, spacious, comfortable and so quiet. Essentially, it enables us to get a brand new car and save money from doing so.

"Zero road tax, no fuel costs and only needing to spend around £2 to charge it up. It’s incredible."

The Billericay-based commercial landscape company Ground Control was recently named one of the Top 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain by the London Stock Exchange Group.
