The advert has has now gone live and is available to view Ted Publications website.

DCLG is seeking to license the running of its Green Flag award scheme to an external body for a period of five years with the option to extend the licence for a further period of five years.

The scheme has UK Government support to continue past 31 October, the end of its current arrangement and it is the intention that the Green flag award scheme will run under license from 1.11.2012. The scheme will be financially self-sufficient and will not receive payment from the contracting authority.

The Green Flag award is the UK’s national standard for public green space, currently used by local authorities in the UK for green space management.

The accreditation scheme has been running continuously since 1996 and is seen as a way of encouraging high environmental management standards as well as setting the benchmark of excellence in recreational green spaces.

The closing date for tenders is 28 August 2012.
