ISS UK, one of the country’s leading facility services providers, has acquired Waterers Landscape as of 1 August 2003.
Waterers Landscape was established in 1984 and during the past 15 years, the management team — led by Mark and Peter Fane — has steadily built up the business to achieve annual sales in excess of £20 million.
Waterers spans the commercial, private and government sector as well as landscaping some of the largest projects in the UK, including the headquarters of aggregrates firm RMC at Thorpe, the Jubilee Gardens at Windsor Castle and grounds of ExxonMobil’s UK headquarters at Leatherhead.
“Becoming part of the ISS family is extremely exciting for all of us,” said Peter Fane. “Although it will be very much business as usual for everyone on a day-to-day basis, the combination of expertise within the two organisations will deliver increased opportunities for everyone, as well as enhancing the services provided to our clients.”
Management at ISS UK was interested in entering the landscaping market, viewing grounds care and landscaping as an essential component in its move to provide a broader range of facility services both to the public and private sectors.
ISS is a global organisation with a turnover of £3 billion annually and has a presence in 38 countries. In the UK, the company employs over 42,000, working in the catering, cleaning, postroom, helpdesk, mechanical and electrical services.
