The work carried out by Glendale will cover the maintenance of more than 75,000 trees on highways, housing estates, and in open spaces and parks throughout the South Yorkshire borough.

It is the sole supplier on the 12 month framework, which has the option to be extended until 2019.

Glendale will also introduce an apprenticeship position, which will be offered to young people in Rotherham and is part of Glendale's ongoing commitment to improve employment opportunities for the communities it serves.

Andy Corcoran, managing director at Glendale, said: "We have worked with RMBC for the past four years and this re-win has strengthened our partnership and demonstrates the excellent standard of our work.

"We'll continue to deliver high quality arboriculture services, vital for maintaining Rotherham's extensive tree population, and keep trees healthy, safe and vibrant for local people and visitors to the borough.

"We'll also continue to be part of the wider community in Rotherham by employing a local workforce."

Glendale's work on behalf of RMBC will include a 24 hour emergency service, clearing of fallen timber, crown reduction and reshaping, stump treatment, tree inspections, branch removal and the reinstating of tree pits.
