Lightweight battery adds an edge for Bosch cordless leaf blower
Clearing leaves will be a breeze this autumn with the new cordless Bosch ALB 18 LI leaf blower, the company has claimed.
Bosch's latest garden product weighs just 1.8kg, and has a removable nozzle to help with storage. The blower is powered by a removable 18V lithium-ion battery which produces a 210kmph jet of air for up to 10 minutes per charge.
The LI battery takes just three and half hours to charge, with no discharge or memory effect.
Its low emission also make it environmentally-friendly the Bosch claimed. The battery is interchangeable with other 18V lithium-ion Bosch DIY and garden tools, allowing for extended use for larger areas.
The ALB 18 LI has a RRP of £89.99.

Town & Country brings new footwear colours and styles
Town & Country has extended its dotty wellington range to incorporate new colours and further footwear options and will be showcasing the entire collection for the first time at Glee.
Navy, pale blue and turquoise wellingtons with contrasting spots have joined the original pink version and will be accompanied by cloggies in matching colours.
Pale blue and pink boot sox to coordinate or contrast with the wellingtons will complete the new footwear line up and their availability will be timed for autumn and winter sales.
The wraps will also be taken off a new charity initiative that will aim to raise a significant amount of money for a well-known and valued cause through the sales of a new glove.
Plant Finder online listing widens garden centre customer choice
QV Web Services is to launch its Plant Finder for garden centres at Glee after signing a deal that gives it exclusive licensing rights.
Gardeners can search from plants commonly available at garden centres or make a more extensive search for less common plants. It includes the QV Plant of the Week on the home page.
The web-based tool allows users to find plants to meet specific criteria, such as type, colour, size and suitability for particular locations, as well as browse in the database. Users can also choose from plants with the RHS Award of Garden Merit recommendation and avoid plants that are hazardous to pets and children. The Plant Finder contains photos and information about more than 6,000 plants and a shortlist of 500 plants commonly available from garden centres.
Plant Finder designer Terri Jones said: "It's hard for gardeners to make the right choices. With the Plant Finder on their website, a garden centre can be sure their customers get accurate information about plants quickly and easily and be inspired to buy plants that they didn't know existed. Plants are my passion. With the Plant Finder I am sharing my knowledge with all those gardeners out there."
Suttons Seeds aid grow your own novices with beginners collection
Suttons Seeds will be at Glee promoting new ranges and products driven from independent market research.
Highlights include a Beginners Seed Collection after a survey found that 63 per cent of respondents classed themselves as learner gardeners. The range is designed to take the mystery out of gardening and encourage novices to grow their own.
The collection comprises SpeedyVeg, Herbs, Seed Mats, Seed Tapes and Easy-To-Grow Seed Starter Kits. Supporting this are high-impact, space-efficient display stands and free beginners guide leaflets.
The For Your Space mini-collection for windowsill, window box, patio and square metre gardening will be defined with easy-to-understand packaging, while a new Italian Kitchen range has clear and simple signage and messaging to creating a "Little Italy" in the garden.
Forest Garden aims for autumn sales with National Tidy Garden Campaign
Decorative garden timber product manufacturer Forest Garden is aiming to help retailers maximise autumn sales with a campaign to encourage people to tidy their gardens before winter takes hold.
Its National Tidy Your Garden Weekend on 22-23 October is billed as autumn's answer to the spring clean and is designed to encourage consumers to spend one last week ensuring that their garden is "winterproof".
Launched in 2010, this year the campaign has a significant consumer-focus, designed to drive demand for products directly into stores.
Forest head of marketing Vicky Nuttall said: "So often gardens can be left in disarray once autumn starts creeping in. Our national event has been designed to get people to appreciate that a little time and effort can prolong the beauty of their garden for many seasons to come."
Activities during the national event will include handy hints on how to fix fencing, decking, patios and sheds to avoid further damage from extreme winter weather conditions. Leading industry figures will also provide advice on storage, weeding and preparing vulnerable plants for frost.
Nuttall added: "Our campaign represents an ideal opportunity for retailers. Encouraging consumers to take preventive measures and to think about new ways to maintain their garden over the winter can draw them in store one more time before the key gardening season ends."
Forest Garden has also developed a merchandising system that enables retailers to refresh displays of seasonal garden timber products throughout the key gardening period. All products are supported with point of sale, including information on special offers to drive sales, as well as lifestyle photography to help consumers visualise the products in-situ.
Paving supplier answers demand with new sandstone flags stocks
Natural Paving Products, the national supplier of natural stone to the landscaping industry, will be at Glee.
Its natural stone block paving offers a direct replacement for tumbled concrete block paving with a truly natural finish, according to the company.
The company has seen demand growing for calibrated sandstone flags and this has led it to offer Classicstone calibrated sandstone flags from stock in nine colours in both single-size packs and project packs of 15.25sq m.
The Lincolnshire-based company has also continued its partnership with interiors and exteriors brand Fired Earth. It will be launching many new stone products for 2012.
Westminster Stone draws on trust for product range collaboration
Westminster Stone will launch the National Trust Landscape Collection at Glee. The range of authentic paving and landscaping products draw their inspiration from the properties and landscapes cared for by the trust.
Products are designed and manufactured in the UK. The ranges are Cotswold Manor, Roman Villa, Country House and Kitchen Garden.
A Westminster Stone representative said: "We will be seeking select retail partners that wish to be involved with this important and ground-breaking collection." Royalties from every sale will go directly to the National Trust.
