Gardman is reporting a year-on-year increase in product sales across the wild bird care category, despite the warm weather.
The company says this is primarily due to its growing customer base, with more than 150 recent account wins in wild bird care, and through growing additional business with existing customers.
It added that its retail partnership strategy, sharper pricing, stronger offers and new product initiatives have also helepd sales.
Sales director Duncan Ross said: "We’re confident that this season’s offer is our strongest yet and the feedback we’re receiving about our approach to the category has been fantastic so far. "
Suets and mealworm show up to a 30 per cent increase and Squirrel Proof Feeders a 60 per cent increase.
Marketing manager Sarah Downing said: "The uplift of Suets and Mealworm mirrors our research that consumer demand for fats and high energy based feeds are expanding this product segment substantially.
"Consumer insight has also driven the development of our Squirrel Proof Feeders range. With 12 products, this has given us the capability to create a Squirrel-proof merchandising concept – generating the increase in sales we’ve benefited from."
