Operations director John Brindle said: "It’s key for us to ensure that we hold sufficient stock for our retail customers and as we are in a growth phase
, it’s imperative that we have sufficient space. Even though we have released some space at Ely, the new warehouse represents a net gain of around 100,000 sq ft."
The proximity of the new space also means distribution is more efficient both in terms of cost and road miles.
Brindle added: "It’s not often that the right space becomes available in the right location, but the timing was ideal and we will be in an excellent position for next year’s trading."
