New Hopetoun Gardens, one of Scotland’s leading independent garden centres, pledged commercial backing to the show’s main Floral Hall.

The "New Hopetoun Gardens Floral Hall" will showcase award-winning nurseries from across the UK, selling a wide range of plants.

Gardening Scotland, from 1 to 3 June at Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, is billed as a national celebration of gardening and outdoor living.

Dougal Philip and Lesley Watson, who own New Hopetoun Gardens and have created many medal-winning show gardens at the event, will create a display.

They will use their design at the entrance to the Floral Hall as a meeting point for visitors to tell them about nectar-rich plants.

Philip said: "Plants are absolutely essential to life on our planet and they influence the wellbeing of all of us.

"The Floral Hall contains the biggest range of garden plants in Scotland so it is natural for us to support it."

Show organiser Martin Dare said: "Dougal and Lesley have contributed to the success of the show in previous years through stunning show gardens."
