Northern ireland Tourist Board show sponsor Joy Bond said:

"This event is outstanding not only as a premier horticultural show but because it also offers so much more to the visitor experience. It really is a fun day out for all ages, and the setting is just uniquely stunning."

The Garden Roadshow Team is back to answer garden queries. Returning this year fresh from RTE1’s ‘Dermot’s Secret Garden’ is Dermot O’Neill and joining for the first time is Pippa Greenwood from BBC Gardener’s World.

The Growers’ Pavilion will have displays of specialist plants and flowers.

Allianz Scarecrow Street,  Dobbies ‘Little Green Fingers’ Area and Allianz Schools Garden Challenge ‘Dream Gardens’, and House of Fraser kids’ fashion show will appeal to families.

Garden Gourmet Derek Patterson will challenge some special guests to cook dishes from home grown food. Plus visitors can try their hand at making jewellery out of flowers and plants, with international florist, Richard Haslam.

Claire Faulkner, director of Garden Show Ireland said:

"We are delighted to be hosting new attractions at the Garden Festival this year as well as welcoming back many who have become familiar to Garden Festival visitors. The demand for making the best possible use of the garden in the current economic climate whilst also escaping for a fun day out with the family, has driven the focus of the event this year."
