Garden magazines see overall circulation growth in 2011

Gardeners' World has pointed out that the ABC figures for the magazine's full-year circulation in 2011 show the title saw growth in 2011 overall compared to 2010.

"Sales of Gardeners’ World Magazine as well as those of the paid-for gardening magazine category as a whole are showing year-on-year growth.

"Moreover this growth has been achieved in the face of challenging trading conditions of consumer magazines, demonstrating the resilience and strength of the gardening sector," said publishing director Dominic Murray.

The latest ABC figures released for the six months to December 2011 saw Gardeners’ World at 216,620. This is up on the same period in 2010 (212,439).

Garden News, Gardens Illustrated and Garden Answers were all down for the six months to December 2011 on the same period in 2010.

Amateur Gardening was up on the same six month period in 2010, while RHS membership magazine The Garden was also up – to 352,461.
