Garden centre sales up seven per cent in June

Final June Garden Centre Association figures show sales were seven per cent up on 2011 although year to date figures show garden centres are 6.81 per cent down pn the previous 12 months.

Catering sales were 15.4 per cent up on last June and 7.12 per cent up for the first six months of the year.

Clothing was up 14.2 per cent in June, as compared to the same month last year (2011) and now shows a 4.88 per cent increase year on year.

Gifts were up 12.42 per cent as compared to June 2011.

Meanwhile furniture and barbecue sales were 14.83 per cent down for the year to date and outdoor plant sales have fallen 15 per cent.
