The Garden Centre Group doubles waste recycling

Waste management firm Biffa says it has helped 140-centre The Garden Centre Group divert 95 per cent of its waste from landfill.

TGCG says it has doubled its recycling rate of green waste, wood, metal, glass and 'dry mixed recycling', after auditing every site within a 12-week timeframe.

It has also set up new food waste collection services for TGCG restaurants within three months as part of a 12-18 month project.

TGCG group maintenance manager Mark Evans said staff had helped by seperating waste better.

Biffa corporate accoiunt manager Sam Smith said TGCG now had 'enviroment champions' at each of its centres.
