Garden Centre Group appoints new regional manager for Wales and the Borders

The Garden Centre Group (formerly Wyevale) has appointed a regional garden centre manager for Wales and the Borders.

Melanie Evans is the new regional manager for Wales and the Borders. In her new role, she will oversee the running of 12 centres in the region.

Evans, who has 26 years of experience in the garden centre industry, said: "I have held several positions within The Garden Centre Group in the past but I left the business and helped launch a new garden centre near Hereford in 2006. I actually worked as regional manager for Wales and the Borders 10 years ago for the group so it's a role I'm used to."

She will supervise the management of Blooms Cardiff Garden Centre, Wyevale Swansea Garden Centre, Carmarthen Garden Centre, Pyle Garden Centre, Wyevale Hereford Garden Centre, Blooms Worcester Garden Centre, Wyevale Thornbury Garden Centre, Nailsworth Garden Centre, Blooms Gloucester Garden Centre, Brockworth Garden Centre, Blooms Cheltenham Garden Centre and Keynsham Garden Centre.

She has formerly been manager of Wyevale Carmarthen Garden Centre and Wyevale Swansea Garden Centre, pet and aquatics buyer for the group and also senior buyer.

The appointment follows Peter Burks, manager of Sanders GardenWorld, being chosen to manage South West stores last month.
