Fresh produce supply chain event honours innovations


Suppliers of weighing machines, fruit packaging, ready-to-eat vegetables and a new series of cherries were honoured at the conclusion of the MacFrut fresh produce supply chain event in Cesena, Italy on 1 October.

The winners of the five "Oscar" awards were:

  • Ishida, which has its European headquarters in Birmingham, for its Rv Series multi-head weighers;
  • Carton Pack of Italy for its Cpfresh films, which control respiration in fresh produce packs;
  • OrtoRomi for its Topolina pre-prepared lunch bowls;
  • Global supply chain specialist Polymer Logistics for Rattan Active Lock Rpc, a reinforced trolley that can be easily converted to a pallet and back;
  • Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna for its Sweet series of cherry varieties, voted for by show visitors.
