Former Wyevale garden centre to become Jewish school

Plans to open a Jewish free school in the former Garden Centre Group Mill Hill garden centre have been given the go-ahead.

After two planning applications Etz Chaim will finally be one of the first free schools to open in September under the Government’s plans to give parents more input on their children’s education.

The one-form entry primary school will be situated in the former Wyevale Garden Centre in Daws Lane and will offer 50 per cent of its places to Jewish children.

Locals wanted to use the site for community use, arguing that the garden centre offered that use as well as retail sales.

GCG collected £2m from the sale of the site.
