Forestry and Land Scotland has a requirement to appoint suitably qualified suppliers for the provision of Plant Supply (including Cell-Grown).
The requirement provides for the supply and delivery of bare-root conifers, to locations across Scotland. The requirement is divided into core and non-core species and class sizes of 18-30cm and 31-50cm. The requirement also provides for plant protection (as necessary) and the option for plastic-free containers or equivalent.
Lot No 1
Bare-Root Broadleaves
Covers 40% of the total annual allocation (approx. 372,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 2
Bare-Root Broadleaves
Covers 30% of the total annual allocation (approx. 279,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 3
Bare-Root Broadleaves
Covers 20% of the total annual allocation (approx. 186,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 4
Bare-Root Broadleaves
Covers 10% of the total annual allocation (approx. 93,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 5
Bare-Root Conifers
Covers 30% of the total annual allocation (approx. 3,915,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 6
Bare-Root Conifers
Covers 25% of the total annual allocation (approx. 3,263,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 7
Bare-Root Conifers
Covers 20% of the total annual allocation (approx. 2,610,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 8

Covers 15% of the total annual allocation (approx. 1,958,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 9
Bare-Root Conifers
Covers 10% of the total annual allocation (approx. 1,305,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 10
Cell Grown Broadleaves
Covers 50% of the total annual allocation (approx. 250,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 11
Cell-Grown Broadleaves
Covers 30% of the total annual allocation (approx. 150,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 12
Cell-Grown Broadleaves
Covers 20% of the total annual allocation (approx. 100,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 13
Cell-Grown Conifers
Covers 50% of the total annual allocation (approx. 300,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 14
Cell-Grown Conifers
Covers 30% of the total annual allocation (approx. 180,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 15
Cell-Grown Conifers
Covers 20% of the total annual allocation (approx. 120,000 plants per annum).
Lot No 16
Tree Seedling Supply, Transplanting and Maintenance
The requirement provides to the supply of seedlings, sown into an appropriate compost filled cell, transplanting and maintenance at Newton Nursery in North East Scotland. Transplanting and maintenance shall include the supply, installation, maintenance and removal of a drip irrigation system. The Purchaser will provide sufficient quantities of seed to the Supplier for sowing.
Lots 1 - 15 will be awarded for 72 months initially, with the option to extend by a further 36 months, not exceeding 108 months.
Lot 16 will run for 60 months with the option to extend by a further 36 months.
The deadline date for receipt of expressions of interest is 2 October 2023.
