Forestry England seeks bids for nearly £1m of woodland work in South-west

Forestry England is inviting tenders for a range of forestry work to promote both amenity, wildlife and timber production across Devon and Cornwall, worth a total of £875,000.

The work is described as "covering a wide range of forestry management duties" including "day-to-day works from litter picking to emergency windblow clearance, to ensure our forests and woodlands are cared for".

The tender is divided into four lots, each for a non-renewable period of four years:

  • The first lot, covering Cornwall, is worth £260,000;
  • The second, for forest maintenance in south Devon, is worth £240,000;
  • The third, for forest maintenance in north Devon, is worth £200,000;
  • The fourth stand-alone lot, worth £175,000, covers Cardinham Woods near Bodmin, described as "Cornwall’s largest recreation woodland".
