Flying Brands sells gardening businesses

Flying Brands is selling its Garden Bird Supplies, Garden Centre Online and Listen2 businesses to home entertainment distributor MBL Group for £720,000.

Flying Brands keeps its the Gardening Direct business, and Jersey-based Retreat Farm plant growing and dispatch facilities and property.

Online sales specialist Williams Commerce is also paying £80,000 for some intellectual property related to Garden Centre Online.

For the six months to July 1 this year the trio of companies had income of £3.1 million.

West Coast Capital owns a 26.9 per cent stake in Flying Brands.

In the last year Flying Brands has sold property assets for £3.3m.
