The latest Debrett’s publication provides a guide to the golden rules for entertaining, essential dinner-party menu dos and don’ts and top tips for hostesses and guests alike. Debrett’s explains how it is easy to be the perfect host if you follow these rules:

 

1. Never bite off more than you can chew

2. Plan your menu before the date and stick with it

3. When inviting your guests, make sure the nature of the event is perfectly clear

4. Do as much preparation as you can beforehand

5. Make sure you have adequate supplies of wine and soft drinks
