Horticulture, forestation and urban landscaping represent three key pillars of Italy's economy. According to the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), Italy claimed the third-highest agricultural production value in the EU in 2022, totaling €72.4bn. So it’s clear the future of the industry is closely related to the Italian government’s long-term plan to improve and accelerate the country’s transition to sustainable energy sources.
This hot topic will be put under the spotlight at ‘Flormart – The Green Italy’, an international exhibition dedicated to horticulture, green spaces and landscaping. This year’s event will run from Wednesday 20 September to Friday 22 September in Padua, Italy, and is expected to be attended by more than 4,000 industry professionals.
Green Italy
For the second consecutive year, the trade show is being organised by Fiere di Parma, a company with a strong track record in promoting and internationalising Italian national products, such as the renowned international food exhibition, Cibus. The event will showcase two distinct programmes: the Flormart Buyers Programme, tailored for purchasing managers from overseas; and the Flormart Experience, exclusively designed for Italian professionals.
Both programmes have been developed in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency and have received support from prominent national and international industry associations. Carefully chosen professionals from key markets in Europe, Africa and the Middle East will have the opportunity to partake in a comprehensive and unique business experience.
International reach
The international nature of the event represents a valuable commercial and promotional advantage for exhibitors across the horticulture industry. These include greenhouses and horticulture, cultivation techniques, architectural and landscaping solutions, irrigation systems, providers of machines for maintaining green spaces, as well as research houses. Additionally, the event features a diverse array of pioneering start-ups.
First class content and networking
There is also a varied and exciting agenda, featuring seminars, panel discussions and networking opportunities. More than 100 respected speakers and experts in horticulture will impart insights and perspectives on a range of critical industry topics. These include pressing concerns such as climate change, emerging cultivation methodologies, rejuvenation of urban and public spaces and notably, the resurgence of green retail in the post-pandemic landscape.
Your chance to be an award winner
Building upon the success of last year’s event, the distinguished Flormart Award, will be presented to those exhibitors who excel in presenting sustainable, socially responsible and innovative business propositions.
At this year’s event, exhibitors and their collaborating design partners will be given the chance to showcase their concepts and solutions for the ‘green city of the future’. This competition, named 'Gardens' Agorà', honours the most promising projects by granting them a dedicated space where visitors can engage with and appreciate these projects firsthand.
