Findings of report on apple and pear levy to be revealed at National Fruit Show

Apple and pear growers are invited to attend a meeting at this year's National Fruit Show to hear the latest evaluation of their HDC levy.

Sean Rickard, a senior lecturer in economics at Cranfield University, is reporting on his independent economic evaluation of the levy and his resulting recommendations.

Kevin Roberts, chief executive of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), is also attending the meeting – and there will be an opportunity for growers ask both men questions at the end of the report.

The meeting will take place in the Astor Pavillion, adjacent to the show, which is being held at Kent County Showground in Detling, near Maidstone, on Thursday 22 October at 3.30pm.
