Fertiliser company Yara reports strong results

Agricultural chemicals company Yara International ASA has announced strong third-quarter results, primarily reflecting a margin improvement compared with last year.

The worldwide firm, which that converts energy, natural minerals and nitrogen from the air into  products for farmers and industrial customers, reported third-quarter net income after non-controlling interests of Norwegian Krona (NOK) 3,566 million, compared with NOK 1,927 million last year.

"Yara reports strong third-quarter results as margins improved significantly for all main product groups, with strong demand in Latin America and Asia in particular," said Yara president and chief executive, Jørgen Ole Haslestad.
