West Sussex-based bedding grower Roundstone Nurseries is believed to have had a seven-figure offer accepted by administrator Grant Thornton in Southampton for the 12ha site plus stock.
It is thought that Roundstone Nurseries had asked NFGP managing director Matthew Dixon to carry on running the business, which sold 35 per cent imports, 25 per cent herbs, 20 per cent alpines and 20 per cent perennials.
Production was at about three million plants per year and annual turnover was £3.7m. Quinton Edwards was the agent but declined to comment. Roundstone Nurseries had no-one available to comment as Horticulture Week went to press.
