Facebook offers help on horticulture careers

A new Facebook application aims to try and coax young adults to work in horticulture and conservation.

Users tapping into the My Perfect Job app complete a multiple-choice quiz to try and hit on the perfect job match.

City & Guilds director-general Chris Jones said: "People aged 14 to 19 are at the heart of everything we do. Facebook is a powerful tool for young people so it is the ideal platform for us to show learners the opportunities open to them."

The quiz aims to give an insight into different jobs. Users receive information on their perfect job and are directed to videos of people "who've hit the big time".

The app was launched at this week's Skills London 2010, headlined by a Big Skills Debate chaired by Dragons' Den's Theo Paphitis.
