Bred in Shropshire by Chris Warner, the rose features bright-yellow flowers and a large bright-red central "eye". It also has fragrance, continuity of flowering and disease resistance, and is suitable as a pot rose as well as for borders and beds.
The rose is the result of 30 years of breeding work by Warner to create this fourth-generation of persica. Other colours of persica-style varieties with contrasting "eyes" bred by Warner are 'Angel Eyes', 'Bright as a Button', 'For Your Eyes Only' and 'Smiling Eyes'. 'Eye of the Tiger' has received the Gold Standard Award.
