The conference will bring together biosecurity experts from across Great Britain and beyond, to discuss novel strategies for improving plant biosecurity and establish a sustainable knowledge exchange.

Strengthening biosecurity is crucial for the protection of our plants and trees. The four main themes of the conference reflect ways in which biosecurity innovations can be imagined and realised. These are:

  • Emerging risks
  • Movement and borders
  • Behaviours
  • Technology

We are delighted to be able to announce that the following experts will be speaking at Innovation in Plant Biosecurity 2017:

  • Sir John Beddington - Senior Adviser, Oxford Martin School
  • Professor Nicola Spence - Chief Plant Health Officer, Defra
  • Professor Helen Roy - Principal Scientist, NERC Centre for Ecology & Hydrology
  • Dr Rupert Osborn - CEO, IP Pragmatics Ltd

Share your research findings and innovations in biosecurity
In addition to a number of invited speakers, the conference will provide a platform for offered contributions and is seeking submissions, on the four conference themes, for oral or poster presentations from researchers and innovators across academia, government and industry.
