The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) is inviting applications from grower groups for funding to promote fresh produce and other foods both within and outside the EU.

Groups may apply for up to half the cost of marketing their goods abroad, rising to 60 per cent for promotion of fruit and vegetables among children in EU schools. Preference will be given to schemes involving produce from more than one EU member state.

Ornamental horticultural products are also elegible. Applicants are expected to fund at least 20 per cent of total programme costs, either through their own resources or via industry levy.

Applications for the first tranche of funding should be with the RPA by 15 April. A second tranche will open for applications until September.

Full scheme documentation is available here. For enquiries, call Steve Wood on 0191 2265338 or Michelle Lowrey on 0191 226 5656.
