Easom said the centre sells an "inspirational range of well-cared-for plants with frequently changing ideas, large specimen plants, sundries and pots, a little bit different from run of the mill".
Nursery-stock grower Welland Vale was founded in 1974 and now has 3.2ha of land. It acts as a "one-stop plant shop" from which garden centres can buy.
Two of the original partners, Ken Ellard and Alan Carr, have now retired. Trevor Burns, the last of original partners, and fellow director Laurence Middleton run the business.
Warren Porter manages web hedging sales, Jo Mitton and Christine Gurney-Walsh oversee the cash and carry and Terry Hunt looks after wholesale production.
