Earley Ornamentals has attracted 200 people to an open day celebrating the installation of a new biomass system at its Thirsk, North Yorkshire nursery.
The Ashwell Boiler Solutions system is designed to save 664 tonnes of CO2 each year, and make Earley one of only a few growers in the region to adopt this approach to heating.
Owner Simon Earley said: "It was pleasing to see so many visitors at our open day and I’m very proud of the team for making it such a success. Some visitors were unaware of the scale of our site here at Earley, so it was great to be able to explain what we do and share our recent experience regarding the installation of our new biomass heating system.
"We also handed out 200 information packs and received lots of positive comments from visitors who were impressed with the new season’s production and professionalism and expertise of our team."
