UK imports of fresh produce from the Netherlands fell 16 per cent in the first two months of this year, to 18,000 tonnes.

Steepest in decline were imports of cucumbers, tomatoes and sweet peppers. Dutch exports to France and Germany also fell, but surging exports to eastern Europe led to a three per cent rise in export volume overall.
