"I thought you might be interested to know of my life-long interest in gardening which commenced in 1940 with the purchase of my first packets of seeds from your establishment in Station Road, Poulton-le-Fylde," he said.
"The success of these gave me pleasure which has not diminished to this day."
The company is now on the look out for other veteran customers.
D.T. Brown’s general manager Tim Jeffries said:
"Mr Wolstencroft remembers us when our main business was supplying market gardeners, and it was this on which our reputation was based."
At this year’s Harrogate Spring Show, at which D.T. Brown was exhibiting, a number of visitors said they had been growing the seeds years before as market gardeners, according to Jeffries.
"I don’t think there can be many who have been using our seeds longer than Mr Wolstencroft has, but if there is someone out there we would love to hear from them," he said.
