The Tesco-owned chain was showcasing its dream allotment at the Southport Flower Show, complete with chicken coop.
Dobbies' Preston general manager John Butcher said: "Other garden centres are sure to copy this."
The 1920s-themed Eco Garden helped to inspire more than 100 people to contact Dobbies Southport to apply for an allotment.
He said: "The local allotment society is dead keen. There are 100-plus on the waiting list in Southport so it's great for people to be able to see allotments in-store.
"We hope they will be open next spring. It ties in with our promoting chickens, self-sufficiency and grow-your-own, which are big this year."
A Sefton Council representative said that planning for the allotments had been "rubber-stamped" last week.
