Design skills sought for top projects

Landscape architects are needed to head up projects in Edinburgh and London. In London, the Olympic Delivery Authority is looking to appoint an integrated team, including landscape architects, to design the VeloPark biking facilities in the northern part of the Olympic Park. Those appointed this summer will help design a BMX circuit, a mountain bike course, a road cycle circuit and a velodrome. British Cycling chief executive Peter King said: “The Olympic VeloPark will be a huge boost to British Cycling. This design competition is the first step towards creating world-class facilities that will hopefully help us hit gold in 2012 and inspire a new generation of cyclists.” The City of Edinburgh Council wants to appoint three landscape architects to help with a series of urban planning and environmental improvement works in the city. L People interested in the Olympic Park project should contact Jonathan Whyte on 020 3 2012 000 or before the tendering deadline of 30 March. For the Edinburgh project, contact Ann Bain on 0131 529 5901 or The deadline for tenders is 9 March.
