The latest extension was for a 900sq m high-bay unit for parts and finished products to assemble Sisis equipment
"We’ve been busy with Sisis since last January with more than 400 design improvements making kit easier to use, easier to maintain and more ergonomic," said managing director Ian Howard of changes to machines such as the Dart aerator.
"We need to be lean, efficient and nimble to react to changing market requirements. As well as technical changes there is the unknown effects of weather change; you can suddenly experience a peak demand for a product due to bad weather.
"Our manufacturing systems and techniques are continually evolving. We continue to invest further in machine tools for in-house component production. This year alone we have taken delivery of two machines costing over £450,000."
This latest expansion follows a new 960sq m factory in 2010 next to an existing 1000sq m depot and then a new 600sq m block for commercial letting. Dennis Mowers and Sisis are owned by Howardson Group.
