The Ecosystems Knowledge Network targets initiatives such as wild flower and habitat creation and planting schemes for green corridors, roofs and walls.
"It will stimulate exchange of knowledge across the country and help groups to understand how an ecosystems approach can build sustainable communities," said Defra.
"Pioneering projects in the UK and abroad are exploring new ways of managing land and sea and how they benefit people. They reflect an holistic way of promoting sustainable use of natural resources."
The online network is being developed under the Natural Capital Initiative banner. Experts and newcomers who sign up will receive a quarterly e-newsletter, invitations to events and access to guidance.
