Defra ministers take new roles

Defra has new ministers following the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

Hillary Benn will continue as secretary of state, with some responsibilities transferred to Ed Miliband, who heads up the new Department for Energy & Climate Change.

Huw Irranca-Davies is now parliamentary under-secretary of state for natural and marine environment, wildlife and rural affairs. His remit includes pesticides and the Gangmasters Licensing Authority.

Jane Kennedy MP is minister for food, farming, water and waste, and Lord Hunt is minister for sustainable development, climate- change adaptation and air quality.
