Defra finds increase in UK's produce acreage
The total area of fruit and vegetable growing in the UK saw an increase of 6.4 per cent between 2014 and 2015, and now stands at 159,000ha, the highest since 2011, according to new Defra figures. But the data show striking differences in different fresh produce sectors.
