Deadline extended for entries to BALI National Landscape Awards 2014

The deadline for the Full Contractor and Group entries in the BALI National Landscape Awards, held in association with Horticulture Week, has been extended due to the busy schedules of BALI members preparing for this week's RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Contractors now have until Friday 6th June to enter for the majority of the categories.

A later deadline of 14 July has been set for the International Award, Design Excellence Awards, Affiliate Exceptional Service, Employer of the Year and the Special Awards, which vary from year to year.

Applicants must first register for the awards online via, but the submission portfolio must reach Angela Donovan, BALI, Landscape House, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth CV8 2LG, by the deadline date for the relevant category being entered.

The award ceremony will be held on 5 December at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, central London.

The BALI National Landscape Awards were introduced in 1976 and include the Grand Award, which is particularly coveted by the industry.

They recognise BALI members and affiliate members who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards of professionalism and skill in the execution of a wide variety of landscaped schemes over the past year.

Last year, Gavin Jones won the Grand Award for a residential scheme that was hailed by the judges as a "masterpiece".

Gavin Jones chairman Martyn Mogford said winning the award was "fantastic for us and for our staff". He added: "For the business it gives us a massive lift for everyone concerned
