David Domoney to open garden centre

Garden designer and TV presenter David Domoney FI Hort will be unveiling Powys-based The Old Railway Line Garden Centre’s new shop area and restaurant at 11am on Saturday, September 29.

Shop manager Katie Cleary said the Love Your Garden presenter will give a 30-minute talk about unusual and quirky gardening techniques, including feeding plants with bananas, beer, nails, viagra and vodka.

The garden centre’s new building will be home to a farm shop, florist and furniture, gifts and Christmas departments and a restaurant.

Cleary added: "On the launch day there will be farm shop suppliers on-site displaying their products, offering free tastings and answering any questions people may have.

The garden centre’s new Christmas department will be opening on the day too.
