Dame Suzi Leather, chairman of the council of food policy, Defra

Dame Suzi Leather has been appointed as chairman of the council of food policy, which is being set up to advise Defra.

She is chairman of the Charity Commission and has been deputy chairman of the Food Standards Association and chairman of the School Food Trust. The new council will advise Hilary Benn on food affordability, security of supply and the environmental impact of production.
