The two-day conference, Soils in the Developed Landscape, will look at standards, best practice and restoration of brownfield land.
"Soil's significance has been undervalued," said market development manager Dr Helen Rawlinson of Envirolink Northwest, a business-led group promoting good environmental practice. "It's crucial the sector realises the full potential of good soil management, manufacturing and enhancement."
The Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and the Institute of Professional Soil Scientists are sponsoring Envirolink Northwest's conference, which is held at Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool, on 10-11 March.
