Duchy College in Cornwall enlisted 10 students to plant 500 trees for an amenity woodland and native hedgerow. Oak, beech, ash and hedgerow species were donated by Western Power Distribution.
The Stoke Climsland staff and students also aim to plant an orchard and wildflower meadow for the project, backed by nature charity Silvanus Trust. The woodland ties in with a new food-tech building on the campus.
Duchy College landscape co-ordinator Jan Phillips said: "We wanted a green corridor running through the campus."
Silvanus Trust project manager Jez Ralph said: "It's good that land managers of the future are planting the woods of the future and committing to forestry in Cornwall."
