Christine Walkden to feature in new BBC1 gardens series

Christine Walkden is to feature in a new 15-part BBC1 gardening series titled British Gardens from Above.

The One Show gardener's show will be about gardens, people, countryside, what gardens mean to her and "what you can take home foilowing a garden visit".

She will look at 15 gardens in the UK that have influenced her career including Wakehust Place where she used to work.

Filming starts in June and the series will be broadcast in autumn on weekday afternoons.

Meanwhile Alan Titchmarsh's Britain's Best Gardens will feature 30 top UK domestic gardens. Contact Alan@spungoldtv.com. The series will be broadcast in 2015.

BBC2's Big Allotment Challenge was watched by 1.7 million people on average on 29 April. The previous episode was seen by 1.9m and episode one by 2.5m. A second series is set to go ahead.
