Tacon, who takes up her position in earnest shortly, will headline a supply chain panel session at the NFU-sponsored Fruit Focus forums, which also includes an update on labour and employment regulations.

Further specialist sessions will look at fruit tree pollination and profitability in viticulture.

More than 100 exibitors have already signed up for stand space at the show, which returns to East Malling Research, Kent on 24 July. Fruit wholesaler Mack returns as the event's principal sponsor for the third year running.

Event director Jon Day said: "Last year more than 1200 visitors attended the event, and we look forward to welcoming at least as many this time around."

Tickets for Fruit Focus 2013 cost £10 (inc VAT) and are available online or on the day. For more information on this and the event go to www.fruitfocus.co.uk .
