Chelsea Physic Garden appoints curator

Christopher Bailes has been appointed as the new curator at the Chelsea Physic Garden, replacing Rosie Atkins.

Bailes brings a wealth of experience to his new role at the Chelsea Physic Garden, having worked as curator at RHS Garden Rosemoor for 22 years, as well as spending nine years working at RBG Kew and several years at the Eric Young Orchid Foundation on Jersey.

An orchid specialist, Bailes has previously edited The Orchid Review and is a member of the RHS Orchid Committee.  His latest book Hollies for Gardeners was published in 2006.

He will take up his new position in spring 2011.
